I really cannot believe that Christmas will be here in less than a month. I am definitely not prepared (meant to follow Karen’s Christmas Pledge, that would have been helpful)!
While not prepared, I am definitely in the spirit, especially with the recent release of some holiday images I styled for modern fireplace masters Paloform.
Thanks to Valerie Wilcox for snapping this picture while I was still pregnant with Rose!
I was invited to take one of Paloform’s modern mantels and style it three ways. Here are the looks I came up with:
LUSH I love using unexpected colours at the holidays- like teal. The rug and pillows from Elte grounded the colour palette. Designer tip: I like using holiday decor you can repurpose so I used several spools of ribbon in place of greenery (which you can reuse!), and adorable peacock and bird themed ornaments from Indigo nestled within. Loving the graphic greek key stockings from Switch Studio– that Staci makes everything look glam.
WARM I think this one is my favourite- I love how minimal it feels, but still festive with the glimmer & gold. Again some beautiful Switch Studio stockings, Elte accessories and lots of gold baubles and feathers and shimmery trinkets. Designer tip: Shop your house- we filled some simple black bowls with gold ornaments for an inexpensive, but luxe look.
SCANDINAVIAN I wanted to do something a bit traditional but with some whimsy- and white boas and handmade ornaments from EQ3 certainly do that. Designer tip: Fur makes everything amazing! This fur throw from Elte is paired with a really inexpensive red pillow- but you’d never know the pillow was $9.99 when put together on a wire mesh chair.
Which look speaks to you? What are you doing to get your home ready for the holidays?
